Garrett Smith
Garrett Smith has been in the financial services industry for 35 years. He graduated with of Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia. During his career he was involved in a number of industry organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Bond Market Association. He also served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy prior to moving to Atlanta in 1972.
Garrett began his affiliation with Peachtree Planning Corporation in 2007, after a long and productive career as an investment professional at SunTrust Banks, Inc. There he was Manager of Bond Trading at SunTrust Capital Markets, a Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Trusco Capital Management, and a Managing Director with Seix Advisors. He advises his clients on a variety of financial matters including retirement planning, investments and risk management. Garrett develops strategies and solutions to help individuals, families and businesses reach financial security as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Garrett lives in Atlanta with his wife of 30 years Jessie, an accomplished artist. Their children, Vance, Hunter and Jessie, are grown and pursuing their adult careers. Garrett is an avid golfer and is a member of the Capital City Club and the Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta.
